Hey everyone, i'm headed to OC/sea isle city in July for our yearly family vacation and have a quick question. Are the beaches closed at night? I can't find any reliable info on this for detecting.

Thanks,

Jay

Most NJ public beaches only restrict swimming at night when the lifeguards are not on duty, but most (including Sea Isle City - "SIC") require badges to access the beaches. It's best to buy a weekly badge instead of daily. Each township is different down there with regards to beach access at night, though I've never found it to be a problem.

SIC has guided Beachcombing sessions every Tuesday and Thursday a.m. during the season. You should try to call their registration number and find out the regulations for after hours access: 908-263-9643.

Thanks for the info. We usually get the weekly passes anyway. I just wasn't sure if they closed the beach completely after dark.
