Well I'm back folks! Had a ton of overtime at work but now it's vacation time. Headed to Avon Park FLorida to see my parents and will make day trips out from there to both coasts. I'm bringing my two XLT's and my 1280-x. Had some serious chatter with the 1280 last time in salt water but was able to sift it out in my head and found some clad. The chatter made the voices in my head dissapear. Hoping for terrible weather since it will be spring break and I know the beaches will be very crowded. If you see a hillbilly with a MD it'll probly be my GF. I'll be somewhere nearby. Probly hit Bradenton and St. Pete areas and to the north first. How's the surf?

Hey hows the gater situation in Florida. I may try some freshwater lakes in central Florida?

The gators aren't that bad as long as you stay out of the reeds. I encounter them in the rivers quite often and I hear them grunting sometimes . Mostly all I see is a bunch of stirred up bottom where they have blasted off when they heard me comming.I don't think that they like the sound of a regulator. If you stick to the swimmimg areas you should be ok .If you see a bull gator stay out of the area as they can be Territorial ,especially around breeding season. If you see a nest,[a mound of sticks mud and sand with a fresh trail or slide] let it be and leave as mama don't want any company.I came down here from WVa. myself many moon ago .Enjoy your trip ,Good Luck Bob
