Heading to my first coin show in over a year tomorrow. I don't know why I have not been in so long but I'm looking forward to it. My focus for the show will be Indian head cents and Buffalo nickels and I'll be keeping my eye out for civil war tokens.

I am a cherry picker at heart and I will consider the show a success if I am able to come home with a 2-feather buffalo nickel and I'm hoping to find an early DDR Indian Head Cent. Icing on the cake would be too get a civil war token for a decent price but being in south Texas we just don't see those coins as much as the east coast.

I always keep my eyes out for large cents as well but are not a priority for me unless someone has a loose bin out to go through.

We shall see how it goes. Hopefully I have something to post for yall.

Well the show was a success. I got some great coins for some pretty decent prices. I will be getting pictures up shortly on the finds.

The best was one of the dealers had just acquired a hoard of civil war tokens and had hundreds of store cards, civil war tokens, and hardship tokens available. They were so cool to look at and have in my hands as I had never seen so many in one place. I ended up getting 2 that I had not seen before. Still need to do research on them to see how I did but both are in AU+ condition and absolutely beautiful examples. I also purchased a few indian head cents with repunched dates and a few re-punched mint mark buffalo's.

Like I said I will get pictures up. Just had a busy weekend and did not get around to it.

wow took me 3 different computers to get those photos up sorry for the delay. Still working through some of the other finds but here are some SLQs that I picked up. One of the dealers had a grab bin with loose SLQs for $5. They were all post 1925, type 2, varieties. saw no older ones in the bunch except for the 1857 seated liberty that I picked up :tongue3:

As far as the SLQs go all of the ones that I picked up either filled a hole in my coin folder or upgraded an existing piece. The two big finds were a 1927S (396,000 mintage:headbang:) and 1927D (976,000 mintage) . Also picked up some other lower mintage dates for the series.

The next big find in the bunch was a 1928 with an inverted S mintmark. This was my first inverted mintmark find in many years. It is listed in the cherry pickers book although I was not aware of it until this discovery.

I did not set out to get these SLQs was just one of those times were you find something that you could not pass up. Still to come are some pictures of some civil war tokens, v nickels, indian head cents, and buffalo nickels that I picked up.

Great Good Luck, Indeed! Magnificent cat, hope he/she is still w/ us........................h

Which happens to be a nice overdate example. Take a look to the north of the 1. some can also be seen in the 8 and 9 as well.

Congrats on cherry Picking that IH over date. It's a thrill when you are able to pick a variety like that.

Nice addition to your collection
