Relic Hunting
Hi all heading out to Vegas for a sales conference. I have a day and half to explore somewhere. 3 of us are staying over and looking for something to do.
We have a car and are willing to drive 3 hrs one way to explore.

I am thinking about renting ATV's and heading out into the desert to look for artifacts.
Have any of you done this? Had a good experience with a particular company?

All three of us hunt, fish and hike so we are open to almost anything.
Been there many times but have not gotten out of the city before.

Thanks in advance

You can't go relic hunting there, but go see Valley of Fire park, east of Vegas. Nice rock formations.

Thanks I was thinking about doing that Thursday afternoon, we get out at 11am and coming back that night.
It is just hiking no ATV's correct?

Thank you

He might be referring to the fact that most of Nevada and a lot of the western states are public lands administered by federal gov. No artifact collecting allowed.

It's a 2 1/2 hour drive to Zion National Park in Utah. One of our most spectacular Western parks. Nice time of year for it as well.

1 1/2 days is rough to go searching. Honestly I would do what Charl recommended and go to Zion National Park. It's beautiful.

Thanks all great ideas. I thought you could collect rocks on BLM land? No collecting in national parks.

You can collect rocks and small amounts of precious gems or ores but you have to be careful about artifacts.

Lake Mead fishing charter?
