headphone trouble

I got a minelab xterra 70. I plugged headphones in and no sound .Its reading that there is phones(headhone icon ),but nothing. What is wrong?

Did you try a second set of headphones? If yes, and they still didn't work. I would say that the jack in the detector is bad.

If you only have one set of headphones, try them in your stereo. Your headphone cable or plug may be bad.

If this is the case, you can go to Radio Shack and buy a replacement jack, cut off a few inches of the cable and solder a new one on.
