There is a graveyard where some idiots bashed up the headstones of some people who died nearly 100 years ago.

If these markers aren't replaced soon they will become unknown like several of the others there.

Does anyone know of a charity organization that replaces headstones lost due to vandalism?

I googled it and found several for veterans but not normal citizens.

I'd replace them myself but don't have the extra money.

I wish there was one I knew of. I have come across so many over the years that scumbags have smashed up. You can't get much lower than defacing a burial site.

May I echo your sentiments in this regard. That is reaching a lower level of scumbaggery which I never participated in back when I was a hooligan. Some things used to be sacred. Anymore this generation of idiots seems to be attempting to outdo one another on being completely disgusting. OK, done with my rant. I don't personally know of any organizations that would replace broken markers. Many of the graveyards in my area have unfortunately succumbed to the same stupidity.

Maybe you could contact some of the nonprofit people in the community, like the Elks or the Moose Lodge. Might try the local Scouts. They could get a fundraiser going. Call the paper. Start a GoFundMe page.
I commend you for wanting to do something. Good luck.

relic nut pretty much covered anything I thought of, but you might get in contact with whoever is in charge of the graveyard, if anybody is, and see what ideas they might add.

I'm not aware of anything.

There is a Confederate cemetery at the University of Virginia with hundreds of unmarked graves. They know who's buried there and where, but no one has been able to get the money together to buy them headstones in the 150 years since they died. If they couldn't do that, I can't imagine that you're going to have much success with a few random people. :(

Sons of Confederate Veterans do headstone replacement for veterans, I'm a member and they did my ggggranddads before I joined.
