I was driving to work this morning and heard that CRHing commercial on the radio. "You can walk right into the bank an trade your paper dollars for silver... And you don't even need a bank account..." Something like that. Has anyone gone to their website to see exactly how much you have to pay for them to teach you how to roll hunt? This is going to be the end, I'm afraid. Won't be long now until our banks totally shut us down.

Until someone pipes in - I searched google and found Say These 5 "Magic" Words To Your Local Bank Teller—And You Could Walk Away With A Handful Of Silver...

Can't see it making a dent at all. CRH is hard work and takes someone more about the thrill of the hunt vs financial gain. Most people hearing that could probably make more money with gigs burping happy birthday greetings on Fiverr then CRH, don't worry so much.

Think about it CRH = time intensive, gas intensive, you need capital to do halves and requires persistence through brutal skunk periods where there is little gain. Plus the weird looks from people in the banks..

badbluff, i used to think the same, that it would impact my crh activities big time... i believe though that mtk76 has it right- its too much work for someone looking for a quick buck... way too much work lol

All I know is that there will be a few lucky, but many disappointed newbs who try after hearing that commercial.

I can picture a Newbie hearing the commercial, and later walking into a bank:

Newbie: (holding a $10 dollar bill) I would like 20 silver halves for this, please.

Teller: Sorry, we don't have any silver halves.

Newbie: No, you have to, I heard it on the radio!

I believe I read on another forum that they want $39.95 or so to teach you the five magic words..."
"Do you have half dollars"

My tellers aren't dumb; they say that the silver they are pulling is worth a HECK of a lot more than the lousy cookies I try to pass off, and on top of that, "I'm not a licensed buyer"...:tongue3:

the problem will start with the people saying "please exchange this for silver"

or however the phrase goes.
banks are going to get tired of it & just ask their magic 5 words "Do you have an account ?"
or just say No we don't have silver

I don't think it's a big deal. Plenty of people know about it and most people aren't interested in doing it.

Well, I'm sure my tellers know.. but, I never said silver to them....I just told them the dates of coins that numismaticly interest me, and they give them to me face value....don't have an accnt there....don't trust banks and their nonexistent electronic money... ...give me silver and gold...something tangible....something I can hold and c... ...they can have their debit cards and loans...that, to me (and ONLY MY opinion), is for the birds
Gl all and HH!
