I had the day off today and I was itching to do some diggin. I went into by backyard where I have found Civil War relics in the past and tried out a new coil for my F-75 LTD.
My backyard is pretty well picked over from other relic hunters in the past as well as myself and I pulled this cool looking bullet out of the ground at about 14 inches.
It is a typical Union 3 ringer bullet but with a twist. You can see on the edges of the base where the soldier bent the base in with his knife blade into a Heart shape.
To make things even more cool, it has the star in the base of the bullet signifying that this bullet was manufactured at the Washington arsenal in Washington City (Now Washington D.C)
I also dug a 3 ringer melted into a poker chip. Very cool for a couple hours out in the woods.
Thanks for looking!
