Just a 1/4 piece, but a nice Folsum fragment. Fully flute on one side, and other side would have been interesting because just this small fraction on a piece exhibits 2 flute channels on the other side ( or may be impact fractures) and micro flaking on the edge and down around the ear to the base, and thats just on the small piece. Piece is also lightly ground ;D

Cool find! That is a heck of a lot closer than I have ever gotten to finding one.

You are doing very well in the Folsom material category Chong.

I would like to see a group shot of your Folsom pieces found to date.

Heartbreaker for sure.

Sorry for the late response guys, computer issues. Here are 7 Folsom pieces, 1 complete found to date. All within a 7 month period. The orange Lindenmier side piece is a buddy of mine's, found nearby, so i know there are more out there 8) I tried to capture different angles to show off the flute's for you and the thinness, no art here, soon tho . 1 complete, 2 tips, 1 side piece, 2 ears, and 1 bottom half. With playing with differnt lighting I see these all exhibit grinding, from just touch you cant tell, some still feel razor sharp. Now that winter is here, lets see what happens, cooler for walking distance, but about 4 hours less daylight, its never a win situation, always a race against the clock, at least we wont have to watch out for snakes soon! Now its the damm mountain lions :laughing7:

I just noticed the pics look from a tube style screen, on a lcd, they are very vibrant

11KBP, from what you can see, how many knappers are in this group?

sweet collection, you got a great eye for sure. tell me do you find these in the same local? take care and watch
out for them cats. we have had some sightings here in Mo. and I think 2 road kills in the last 10 to 15 years. We
got some big Bobcats tho. back when me and my bud use to trap. Take care and good luck...

Chong, not being a knapper I do not feel I am qualified to make that call, however from looking at the variation in those pieces I would guess multiple knappers.

Im sorry 11KBP, I was not through enough and just shot the question out.
I recently read Baker's study on Folsom signatures, and I assumed that why you requested a group shot. From looking at these closly i personally believe that two are from the same maker, JMHO
Thank you for your interests
Awesome cat Junkyard, we recently hat a bobcat run off with a small dog at work in daylight, and the other day i saw some big prints in the dirt, and now i come to think of it, i had a dream of a mountain lion last night actually....... strange........ ???
