Thank you so much for hosting this wonderful site! I look forward to sharing all of our adventures
I had a detector years ago ...but my darn brother took it, time for a new one. I was not, am not very skilled.
I am about to purchase a new detector (I just bought a Garret PinPointer Pro ..and I love it) and I would like some advice. I am looking at purchasing an 'upper mid level' machine.
1) I am old, lol, almost 60 .. so it has to be light weight!
2) I have a house on the eastern end of Long Island which means I will occasionally be hunting on the beach
3) I have a large house and some barns in MA that were built in the early 1800's and will be tearing them down. Now that that decision has been made I can tear down walls etc ... and at least take a peak into the 'missing spaces' in between a couple of walls. My question what type of metal detector would be best inside an old house?
I do have an advantage here ... other then a couple of electrical outlets installed many years ago everything is original. (There is also remnants of a tennis court built in the early 1900's) and a river (lots of quartz) ... so I have a lot to look forward to but my main concern now is looking inside the house .. I have watched videos and read books .. now I am ready to search
.. so again, which detector do you think would do well in a house?
So those are my questions. I would love to meet up with other people on Long Island if they would be interested in having a 'newbie' along with the . Thank you! Lauren
