Ran across this forum while googling up on some possible MD prices and such.

Thinking of taking up Detecting as a little hobby to get out of the house but not sure if there is much area to do that around my area (Blountville) with all the State Regs, State Property and stuff. I am not from this area (or State) but it is home now.

I have looked and seen a couple of people on here near me in areas like E-ton and J.C.

I was wondering if maybe I can hook up with someone on a weekend who has a spare detector just to see if I really want to start this as a hobby. I just dont want to drop a bunch of money on equipment if I just wont get out there alot. Maybe I could "rent" the detector as an Idea or something.

Hopefully one of Our Members will be able
to Introduce you to the Hobby.

Try to avoid Remtals though.

You may be better Buying a Bounty Hunter at Wallmart.
& returning it later if you don't Enjoy the Hobby.

Can't help you with specific locations but I can say that Blount County has a rich history dating back to colonial times. You will have plenty of research to keep you busy. Also visit the University of Tennessee's "map library". They have every map that was ever made including OLD topo's
