Relic Hunting
Hi All
I am new to MD and this site and have just purchased a XP Gmaxx for locating WW2 relics following on from the D day landings.
Living in the middle of the battle of the Hedgerow country in Normandy France I have always had a couple of site on my wish list to visit the day i buy a MD and my 1st outing went better than expected.I came across a empty packet of K rations,a 50cal bullet, many other bullets but my best hit was the end of a MG42.
I am fully hooked now and my next purchase is a pointer as every hit is taking way to long and I am looking forward to find more.
If anyone has any advice for WW2 relic hunting it would be most welcome :icon_thumleft:

Welcome to Tnet from Mississippi.

Welcome to Treasurenet!!
Several other T-Net members are from Normandy.
You may find them here: France
I've returned two US army WW II dogs tags (service tags); from the Normandy and Battle of the Bulge areas. Both tags were found by French T-net members.
Hopefully you will find others that may be returned to the soldier or his next of kin.

Don......

It is my goal to do exactly that.....I am currently finding lots of things around some fox holes I have located.I was sure they were American fox hoes until I found the end of an MG42 now I am not so sure.

Welcome from North Central Illinois. 🙋 My Father visited the Normandy peninsula once. Ste. Mere Eglise, to be precise. On 6 June 1944.

Hi Doc,
Welcome aboard and envy you're location. You'll be hunting on hallowed ground. My Dad landed in Le Havre and ended up in the south of Germany in 45.
take care and good hunting!
