Hi, my name is Vinnie, I am another metal detector newb. The last detector I had was an old Radio Shack one back in the 70's. Currently borrowing a Harbor Freight special from someone just to learn how to use one.
I took it out in my backyard yesterday in all metals mode and found 2 nails, piece of bent aluminum, and a very old cutter mattock. I figure its great practice and at the same time clean up some trash that may be buried in the yard.
I've been researching detectors, and due to a limited budget, am going to shop around for a White's Treasure Pro.
Anyway, great forum and glad to be a member.
