New to detecting...

I've always wanted a nice detector but could never plunk down the money, too many other places for it to go... However, my 41st Bday just came and went and my wonderful G/F picked me up a detector from Dicks Sporting goods.. I'd post the model, but I'm down at her house tonight and I can't remember the Brand/Model... I'm gonna guess its a fairly entry level model as she knows even less than I do about these things...

I hope to learn alot about them and find some cool things...
