Even if it is real it's too far gone to be worth anything.

Good luck if its real welcome to the club:headbang:

All Submariners are marked where ARRC showed you. At the 12 oclock will be the model number and at 6 oclock serial number. Sometimes the band was worn loose and the numbers were worn off. But they are at this position since the origin of the model in the 1950's.
THe lugs look bent? where the band attaches?
THis would be a Rolex Submariner 1680 Which would be the number at 12 oclock.
It is beat to hell but if real still has some value I would guess $600 to 1200 dollars if the lugs arent bent.
From what I can see in the picture, this is the real deal. Send me the numbers and I will tell you when it was made.
THis is my forte. I own 26 or so of these. Have been collecting them for a long time. So if real, I will make you an offer on it?

Pretty sure its good. Send more pics?

Cheers

Oh and don't try to pry it open or use pliars to unscrew the back. Most of your value there is the case!

Cheers

becareful even the fakes have numbers markings ect. they make them so well now the only way to know for sure is to have it opened everyone told me mine was fake but had jeweler open it and its was the real deal. good luck

Trdking ... ALL have #s there ?
hmmm news to me...
I saw one years (90's) ago a buddy found in Jamaica with no #...
He took to jeweler and sold it for 1900.

Oh and btw... saw a stainless one at a pawn shop... while I was checking some treasure coins for him...
Guy comes in and says..."hey you got any Rolexes"?...
and so he pulls out a limited edition with box and papers...
and says...2000...
I said... 2k ?
he whispered to me... you can have it for 1800...
I walked around the shop.... listening to barter...
he sold it for 1950....
I was like CRAP !

This was THIS past Friday.

Watch was said to have been worn 6 times max...
Pawn guy paid 1500

No Numbers and no wear spots (it never wears it all off) Absolutely 100% No question FAKE
I have seen pawn shops get burned both ways. They are not experts.

So Probably Too much information but I have owned 2 watch related jewelry stores and have colletcted watches since I was 10 years old. A guy walks into my shop with a Rolex date just Very nice looking watch. I was walking out the door I looked at it and told my employee to buy it at 3500 As I was walking out I yelled back at him to open it first. You know where this is going. FAKE FAKE FAKE

A few Like that one are very good. Most will have obvious tells Like wrong dial or style for the frame (Case) Submariner bezel on a Seadweller frame etc….

Oh And if anyone is interested. You hear that a real Rolex minute hand flows and a fake stutters. THis is also not a sure way to tell. THe garbage fakes have quartz movements and the minute hand jumps one second at a time. Very obvious. But the Rolex has a mechanical Isochronic movement So it ratchets the escape more than 2 times per second so it looks like it flows but it also has a slight stutter. They MAKE CHEAP ISOCRONIC MOVEMENTS so a better fake will look like it flows but the movement is garbage.

Hope thats not too much info.

East Coast's watch looks good. It does not have any tells. Pretty sure its real.

Cheers All

I ALso Smell Fake or stolenwatch here.

THe only "limited Edition " ROLEX's that are made lately are the Green Bezeled Submariner 50th Anniversary One year release that turned into 7 years and a green on green HULK Sub Both of these watches have a minimum wholesale of 6500. (I am a buyer all day long) especially with "box and papers"
Noone in their right mind would sell a watch that they paid $9250.00 list for 1500.00.

But I guess stranger things happen

I had a friend who owns a tow yard. THey picked up an S500 Mercedes off the freeway with 2200 miles on it. It had a flat tire. The persons never picked up the car and he got to lein sale it to his friend. New 100,000 car (in 2003) THe guy still drives it. It has 250K miles on it today.

Crazy

Reminds me to a much lessor degree (hopefully).

I found a $600 Luminox watch and turned it in to someone, which I have reason to believe they kept instead of trying to find the owner. It required some repair and a band. Someone then offered me $150 for it. The year before I found a $200 one and gave it to my brother as a present because I knew the owner no longer worked with us. I then liked it so much that I bought one.

Hey be careful if you try to open the case by yourself ... I messed up a perfectly good Rolex by trying to do it myself without the proper tools! :BangHead: Good luck!
