I drove about an hour from home to buy a desk for my son off of Craigslist. On the way home I passed some Estate Sale signs so I detoured. There wasn't a whole lot left, but this horse was sitting there looking handsome, signed, and only marked $8. I picked him up figuring there must be damage or it must be a resin reproduction. No real damage... a few tiny paint loss spots and a line on the base. When I checked out they said it was 50% off so I got him for $4. I think maybe other people thought it was a casting due to the line, but it's a signed Helmut Diller piece for ANRI. Generally I'm not a fan of ANRI pieces but Diller was apparently a very good artist and his pieces can do very well, although I can't find a sold price for his horses. The line is where two pieces of wood were joined together.

Quality never lies. Great piece! Value ?

Oh, nice! Thanks, cheech! That one had more condition issues if I recall - a break in the right fetlock and I think the 'crack' in the base where the wood was joined was more noticeable.

Not bad for a discounted buy!
