Help!! Any ideas?

I found this last year at atlantic beach NC which is not to far from where the infamous pirate blackbeard sunk the queen anne's revenge. It's looks to me to be a part of a piece of jewerly or a coin. If you look very closely it looks like it says 1751, but it may just be the way the design looks. Any Ideas?

Looks like a small piece of sunken treasure to me and looks like it was once in a fire?. I'm thinking silver and old. A fancy button from Blackbeard's coat?. Pretty cool what ever it is?

Remains of a fancy octagonal button? Could be 18th C... Clean up the back and see if there is a spot for the shank.
