Hey new to this site could use a little help on this badge its about 2 1/2 inches long about 1 1/2 tall. Its a mans head in center. Sorry but can't make out any markings and I'm sure pictures are not the best .thanks alot
Just a wild guess, but your waist/sash buckle appears to have a woman's head in Elizabethan head dress. There appears to be letters across the "headband" area of the forehead. Maybe if you rub your thumb across those letters, they can become readable? That is a very nice find, congrats, Sub
Thanks, already tried to rub and just couldn't bring out anymore details but it does look like writing above the hat , I thought it was a guy with a hat and a wreath around his neck. This ones killing me
I think Sub-t is on the right track. It was common in the Victorian Renaissance to have the likeness of some historic woman of strength on fashion accessories like brooches or sash buckles.
Thanks for the replies . The more I look at it I can see a woman's head. Had it wrong I thought it was some type of badge . Hope I can get some more to put on here soon
