I found this button this morning. . . Chicago suburbs. . . any ideas for age & type?

1870-1900 Indian wars to Span Am.Army button. Used on jackets and coats. Nice find.

Waterbury used to have their backmarks and dates of production on their website. I have not been able to find it lately. They say contact them for information. The backmark will give you the exact date range the button was produced. Ask them and let us know how easy it was to get a response.

So will the book written by McGuinn and Bazelon on Military backmarks. It's a book that every detector user who digs a lot of military buttons should have.
