It is a garnet. The shape is key. The most likely variety of garnet is almandine. If you use some fine steel pointed tools you should be able to clean it up some.

Yep, a nice chunky garnet nice color too alot of the time they take on a brown color..

I found this Rock in a small cave in the side of the interior wall there were many of them what is it?
