Help I.D.? Half Musketball? Homemade button?

I found this on a riverbank near Coshocton, Ohio. It appears to be half of a musket ball or a homemade button. It is made out of lead, appears to have a pattern on the top and a small spot of rusted iron on the back, possibly a shank? There is a lot of Native American activity in the area as well as conflicts in the late 18th century. Any information would be greatly appreciated! Dime pictured for size comparison.

It might be just a round ball (bullet) that struck a rock or some other hard object. The marks on it caused from impact. Unless the "marks' are actual designs (hard for me to tell from the pic).

That is possible, although I believe that it appears to be an intentional pattern rather than an impact mark. The marks are on the "dome" side rather than the flattened side where the impact would have occurred. Thank you for your reply! I attempted to take a magnified picture that may help: IMG_3136.webp

Looks like a button wit the loop broken off.
