One of my regular hunting buddies found this at a site we have been working lately but can't seem to figure this one out. The button appears to be iron, and yes a magnet sticks to it. But it also appears to have gilt on it. The condition is too poor to read the back mark, but there did appear to be one. Any ideas?

I think it's a plain button, and the apparent design on front is from the bar and loop on the back...

Well dog gone, I think you're onto something there.
