I would guess it is a CS Enfield being it has a unusual base and cavity.Someone will be along to give you a exact I.D.good find

I sure hope it is all I have is one other civil war bullet a beat up three ringer
 

I don't remember what forum this is posted on,but if it is not the 'What is it forum" you might wanna put it on there.There a member that goes by Thecannonballguy that can tell you everything you need to know about it.I am looking forward to learning some more about it myself.

Try bulletandshell.com or relicman.com....looks like a .58 Enfield...actually used by both North and South but generally attributed to the South.
