HELP ID BUTTON

I found an old uniform jacket in my grandparents attic and I would like to ID it, this button was in the pocket and matches those on the jacket. Sorry about the pictures, its the best I can do at this time. The back of the button reads "GOODWINS PAT JULY 27 1876" the face of the button has an eagle, wings spread, left talon clutching arrows, right talon clutch branch and its surrounded by 24 stars. thanks in advance. kenb
