I dug this today, thought it was a smooth button as both sides are smooth. put in my pouch and forgot about it til I got home.

Closer inspection, looks like you could fold it in half, and u can see the notches on the edge on one side (other does not have them) and look down into it with magnifying glass (dirt inside).

About the SIZE OF A CLAD DIME in diameter.

any ideas? found in an area where i found other old stuff (harmonica reed and 1908 V nickle), so wondering what this could be.

any help would be greatly appreciated. bet someone nails this one! will put a clearer pic up later, phone acting NUTS.

almost thinking you can bend it open and use it to clasp onto something. afraid to try to open it, until i hear what it may be.

A more clear photo will help, but it almost looks like it is a type of seal that was crimped shut?

dont seem like it would be a very strong seal. not sure. i will see if my cell is working again and i can get a better picture of it.

I remember some little advertising pins that were made from thin metal that bent over to clip(grab) lapel or material.Don't know what they would have been called. They were round with thin strip between both round pieces.

i also remember those. those had a metal flap on back and you bent it over wherever you wanted to place it on your clothes, you mean those? this is different, the entire round object looks like it opens, maybe an older version of those that i am not aware of? but, there is NO design i can see and it seems thicker than those. looks more like teeth that fit together when closes, so not sure it would be to wear. strange.
