Sorry I have a couple items that I need help identifying. I also got this at an auction for a really cheap price. The only information I have been able to come up with is that it is possibly pre 1891 since it does not have a made in Germany stamp. The other is that the angel ES mark on the bottom is possibly from the early 1800s, but was also used on modern steins (which should have a made in Germany stamp right?). I do believe it is solid pewter. In one of the pictures there are the letters MN on the side of it. I haven't been able to figure out what ES or MN stands for. There's a pheasant on the top of the lid, elk/deer on the side, and a man smoking a pipe. That's all I know about this, which doesn't tell me much. I would just like to know the maker and approximate age of this. If anyone could help, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Don't know if you've seen this site, but I think you can send pictures here and they will help to identify the stein.

Welcome to Stein Marks.

I had seen the site before, but was hesitant to email and ask. I emailed the site owner and am awaiting a response to see what he knows.

The only lettering on there was ES on the bottom and MN on the side.
