Help Identifying Military Button

Can anyone help me date this military button? I found it in the backyard of a house dating to the teens/early 20s. A WWII vet told me he thinks it could date to WWI because of its weight. Thanks for any help and HH!

Infantry collar disc (not button) B-Company? WWI is quite possible. Someone may nail it before I find an exact match.

Thanks for the help. I knew the backing didn't really look like a button, but I couldn't think of what it was. It's nice to know I have a WWI relic.
