V nickel.....Joe McDonough

Looks like a coronet large cent 1816 to 1839 I say so because of the high peak at the forehead Someone else may chime in but I am sticking with that until otherwise. :)

V nickel.....Joe McDonough
I definitely see that as well. There was no mention of the size. I was originally thinking I saw a 19xx which could have been 18xx to fit a large cent. If this is nickel size it is definitely a V nickel

Yes I just checked it & it is the same roundness as nickle but a lot thinner than a nickle.....Thanks For Info.....Sorry should have put the size in the description......

Thanks

Posted Twice Sorry......

Nice find...V-nickel :occasion14:

looks like a toasted V nickel. first thing i saw was 19--

V nickel............1913:laughing7:

No one sees a half cent? I found one corroded on the beachknew it was somthing different just by feel....same diameter as a nickle but a hair thinner. Mine was an 1853.

v nickle theres silver around there keep looking nice find

I have to agree with V nickel. The deterioration of the coin caused it to loose thickness, but not diameter. The liberty bust and the stars are definitely V nickel style.

I once found an Indian head penny in a swampy area that was almost paper thin. The acid in the swampy water had caused it to thinout evenly so the high spots were still high and you could make out the Indian on the front and the wreath on the back.

Congratulations on the nickel find. Keep swingin.

A toasty V!!! Nothing wrong with that. :icon_thumright:
