Looks like spanish copper to me but I'm no expert. Any advice? Found it in San German, Puerto Rico. Lots of history on this town!! ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1435721532.018892.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1435721565.168001.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1435721606.585485.webp

well until the USA took control of it via the Spanish American war in 1899 /1901 --it was a Spanish colony , so Spanish coins would have been the common money used..

old Spanish copper coins were called maravidis .. and newer ones .. centavos
