My hunting buddy found this in a small creek in Virginia. Any help identifying would be greatly appreciated, also there was civil war activity in this area. Could it be touched by modern man? 20180206_111242.webp20180206_111257.webp20180206_111304.webp20180206_111329.webp20180206_111339.webp20180206_111350.webp

Hmmm.

Sorry, but that sure doesn't appear to be a native american axe.

I Agree with Quito. It is a natural rock.

Looks natural to me too.

I see that type of rock in my creek and it makes me mad because it looks like something and then when I pick it up, well it's frustrating. Maybe a type of Gneissic rock. Keep looking though because if you haven't already found artifacts there you might. Good luck!

I have to agree with everyone else. I see no evidence of that ever being altered or used by man.
