I have this turtle pendant charm! It's a pretty large turtle for a piece of jewelry anyway! It does have marking on it but they are basically made to blend in with the design. I do see some letters and numbers but not much to me is very clear. It looks like some of the writing states that it made of sterling and platinum and Im not sure if the stones in it are real or faux. Can someone pls take a peek and give me your opinion? If you need more pics or one of a certain area pls just let me know and thanks everyone!! I love the knowledge I get on this site it fabulous!! :-)

It's really hard to tell if colored cuts stones are naturally made, especially from a picture. It's also hard to identify a cut stones just from color alone. Without noticeable crystal structure or habit it's almost impossible to identify a mineral from pictures. My advice would to take it to a local jewelry store. Don't take it to a Kay's jeweler, helzenburg diamonds or any store of that nature, because 80 to 90 percent of all their colored stones are man made and the associates that are on hand are not qualified to identify natural colored stones from man made colored stones. Find a local store that has a gemologist or metallurgist on hand and let them look at the piece to verify wether the stones are man made or natural. Good luck. Great looking piece.

I think it's an antique tribute and medallion dedicated to Gamera

Hi Kathy, I hate to disappoint, but I think you are wishing if you see "markings" in the stippling or lines on the back. It looks like costume jewelry to me. I think the stones are "paste", the old term for faux stones.

Oh no there's def markings there I just can't read them! Many vintage jewelers made thier markings to blend in with the design
