Stained quartz?

I see lots of quartz crystals in those shots. It looks like the yellow is a coating on the crystals. Is it? Or are any of the crystals yellow all the way through?
Looks like sulfer deposits on pegmatites to me. Can you scratch the yellow part with a knife?

I see those yellow-ish stains often with alteration of quartz porphyry.

I'd keep looking in the area, I see some purplish spots in there. Might be some amethyst close by.
