I could use some help identifying this pin I recently found. It looks to me that it is probably masonic or some other fraternal organization. It's very small though, so the writing is extremely difficult to make out and may be in Latin. It measures 7/16" in height and is about 5/16" wide. The back screws off. Any ideas?

This pin is really neat looking. The star at the stop looks like almost alike the Soviet star emblem. The only word that I can make out is the first one which translates to 'heavens'.

I thought the same thing about the Soviet star emblem, but the chance of that is pretty remote. I believe this belonged to my grandfather, who was about as far as you can get from a Communist. He was a common pleas court judge in the 1940's. Here's another image that's a little better.

Figured it out! It's a Phi Kappa Tau fraternity pin, but it doesn't look like either the pledge pin or the membership pin that they use today. It is definitely the fraternity's crest though. So maybe this was the pin in the past. Thanks!
