I found this while i was working construction in Cincinnati a guy at a coin and gold shop said that it was useless but then offered 50 bucks for it i dont want to sell it i just want to know what it is and where it came from
I hope you don't mind but I edited your pics to help show them a little better. If you click on the picture one time it gets big. Click again it gets bigger and click on it again for a very close up shot.
Did you magnet test it most old old items are copper and not magnetic it could help in dating it. looks like it is stamped. You know who might know is Chicago Ron he is on facebook he travels a lot. Great find good luck
I did a magnet test on the coin it was not magnetic. i found it in Cincinnati while i was installing gas services. The back story i got about the place i was working was it was a lake at one point and it was filled in with dirt taken from the Ohio river when a widening project took place in the 1800's. I guess Cincy was a major port back then and many boats from around the world were docked there unloading materials. it feels dense and not to flexible it seems like it is a brass coin not copper. Thanks for the welcomes and all the ideas of where it came from!
The two royals staring at us reminds me of Constantine V and Leo IV coins, but the reverse does not flash as being a coin I recognize.
Actually, the figure on the right appears to be holding two snow poles or walking sticks.
