Help anyone no how to remove a hundred years of pigment on gold (I think it's gold)anyway it's heavy no magnetic sticks/ and it looks different than brass , lastly how to test gold at home and clean please......

Hi. Congrats on your finds! Gold usually doesn't change color. Shouldn't have any tarnish.

Just put it in dish soap and water. If it's gold that's all it should take .
Gold comes out of the ground looking great and you should only have to wash it off.
If that don't do it than it isn't gold.
