Clueless but, it does look like silver. With that unique shape I would think someone can get you a positive ID. Looks like it has a "bust" on it perhaps?
Feels to light to be silver. It has a right facing bust and it's small. Each of the eight sides feels scalloped to a small degree. I searched octagonal coins with no luck.
The diameter of your coin (18.47mm) dictates its one cent denomination versus the US cent at 19mm.
The same images as yours, but with a diameter of 23.1, would be a five cent ECS coin.
