🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Help me identify this magnetic rock.

What’s up guys. I found a rock I believe it’s quartz but I’m no expert at all. Whats curious about this rock is it has a little black layer on it and that layer seems to be magnetic. I’m wondering if anybody can tell me what this is and maybe a little bit of information about it. Thanks.

Looks like magnetite.

Without better pictures and more information, I would also say magnetite. Especially since the matrix looks quite ferrous.
