Hi,
Longtime lurker (years), first time poster. I found this today at a thrift store for $50. It's a ceramic charger plate with an angel scene. I normally wouldn't pay that much but the size at 22.5" in diameter and 2.5" in height plus the gilding, I thought I'd take a chance. It has no markings. If someone could let me know something about this type of work, it would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Well I looked at glazed chargers from Italy, as that was my first ideal of where it's from. Some are similar, but something about the style of I doesn't quite look Italian to me. I also compared some made in Austria and they kindof also had a lot of similar looking antique chargers, but something tells me it may be made to look as if it was produced in Europe and could be a piece made in Japan or China. :dontknow:

I agree. The figures as painted certainly seems to have a Chinese feel. My guess would be it is priced about right but you never know.
