ok, I went back to where I found those bottles and randomly picked a spot and started digging, I pulled about 40 bottles in one hour, here are some of the ones I found.

the two medium blue bottles are milk of magnesia bottles, no date but theres different writing on each.

the bigger brown one is a 2 oz Bovril bottle

the little brown one has something on the bottom I cant make out

the round blue bottle is a emerson drug company Bromo seltzer

the large clear bottle says ACE and has the ace of spades on it

the small clear bottle says Watermans Ink

What year would you say these are from and is it worth it to continue digging this area??

Maybe even the 1950s. The colors are great, aren't they? I'd put them where the light (from the sun or a lightbulb) can shine through them. It would be awesome. As far as if it's worth digging more out, heck yes! You don't know if there are older ones beneath these, do you? Usually the newer stuff is nearer the surface and the older stuff is deeper. Besides, you might get lucky and find some marbles, coins, tokens, buttons, etc. mixed in with the bottles. I'd dig that area until I found everything - worth keeping or not. Good Luck!

It appears someone was back there digging a while ago, I found three large holes about 5'x5' and about 3 to 4 feet deep. It looks like the holes have been there a few years. As soon as it warms back up I'm gonna go back and see what I can dig. Thanks for the info,,, on a side note are there any bottles from the 40's and 50's that are worth any money?

Hmmm, I don't know. I usually am not interested in selling any of my bottles so I don't check out the prices. You might get a few bucks if you find soda bottles with painted labels, plus any milk glass bottles or jars you might find could be worth a couple bucks. But there is always a buyer for something, it seems, if you know how to market your stuff. LOL Don't forget the asthetic value of your finds. That's worth a lot in my opinion.

the cobalt blue ones are worth about 2.00 dollars in an antique shopput more if they are corkers. The ace of spades is a shoe polish bottle. Start looking for some milk bottles in the dump. Some of them can be worth a lot more
