HELP W/WW1 German ring meaning...

Hello everybody,
I've had this ring for awhile now but can not find the reason for the ring...It translate's to 35g bread or 1 roll or 25g flour...Doe's anybody know why this was said or put onto ring's? I'm sure it had something to do w/their ration's but not sure..Any help will be greatly appreciated...HH ALL !!!

seems fairly clear to me that in 1915 some one took a daily "bread' / roll / flour ration chit for a small amout of bread * and converted it into a "suffering' ring --as in see i am giving up my ration chit by converting it into a ring so a soldier will get "my"daily bread ration-- during WW1 - many german mothers and women were asked to give "gold" for iron and were awarded special "award" rings and pins and such for their "suffering and sacrafices" --
