Detector(s) used
Fisher 1280X
I bought at a yard sale for $1.oo a ----- D-TEX, Deep Search, 154hz
CU.PLANAR COIL, concentric SUPER COIL.
Has anyone out there ever used one? Will this coil work on any D-Tex locator that I can plug it into? It's also a 14 inch Coil.
How much deeper will it go over a standerd 14'' coil? Anything you can tell me about it is more then I know now. HELP!

I doubt if you receive many responses here. I imagine most young people here have never heard of a D-Tex. Probably difficult to find the detector for it. Here is a link to Carl's coil forum. Perhaps someone there would know more about this antique. At 14" probably too large to use as a Frisbee.

Thanks for your reply bakergeol. I'll check out the site and likely end up giving it the deep 6. Only thing is it's like new and likely works well, if I could find an old lacator that would take it.

Your coil went on a D-Tex BFO. It was my first detector in the 60's and I had your coil as well as the standatd (I think it was an 8 inch) Afer I used it a while i wrote to the company (Bill Mahan) and got a coil with a long coil wire and placed the coil on a long pole and floated the box on a innertube, Dug hundreds -yes hundreds of rings with that rig and an old aluninum snow shovel I bent and drilled a bunch of holes to let out the sand. Those were the days!!!
