No idea but that is cool...almost looks like the extra top portion could have been added as an after thought.

well you can see the seem so it is easy to date but what it is....Harry will be along in a min. and tell us...
 

I'm like chitlin, looks like a snout was added ti an existing bottle. BB, were there any glassmakers in Vicksburg at that time? Lol.
 

Haha! It does look like it but you can see the mold line run past that hump. Makes me wonder if it's a medicine bottle of some sort. When I poured water from it, it had a unique and almost restricted flow. Very different!
 

My instinct is to call the bottle a whiskey . . . looks like it might be a quart. I don't have one exactly like it, but your bottle does remind me of this one on my shelf.

That restriction is likely to be an accident in production; the mold, after all, was on the outside of the bottle. Accident or deliberate, I'm sure the constriction proved handy when pouring shots.
