Help with brass

Hello! I found this near Vicksburg close to Civil War activity. It is brass. Is it anything of significance or scrap?

Thanks! That's what I was thinking too. Found several civil war relics (buttons, bullets) in that area. Just wanted a second opinion before I throw it in the scrap pile.
