help with gold

HI im new to gold panning/mining and i was wondering if anyone has any ideas of where i can go gold sluicing/panning anywhere near Grand Junction Colorado. if anyone can help i would vary much like that. also can anyone tell me what would be the best angle for a sluice box and the best way to build riffles?

Seams like one inch drop for one foot of run, so a four foot long sluice would drop 4 inches. I think"
