Help with Id. Found on the Chesapeake bay in MD.

I think it may be serpentine. But I’m just not sure. I find them on my beach. Not a lot and you have to really look. I’m tumbling some now and will post more pics ina few weeks. Some are darker and some are much lighter green. They always have black specs. I have been trying to get an id o. The for awhile now.

Looks like serpentine to me, I could be wrong, black mineral might be Schorl, nice specimen:icon_thumright:

I’m thinking serpentine too. I have so many. I’m tumbling them now. In a couple weeks I’ll post pics of the tumbled ones

The black mineral could be chromite. Here is a link to the possible location of where your rock came from.
