A coin was given to me by a customer of mine who lived in Libya years ago...he said one of his kids picked it up off the ground...
He said the artifacts in that area were everywhere.

More likely an Imperial Roman copper "As". Historically, Northern Libya was once part of the roman provinces "Africa" and "Cyrenaica" from 146 BC to the 5th century AD.
