help with identity/is this a gouge?

Help, do you think this is a gouge? I thought a gouge got wider at the bit not narrower, but the poll end (widest) is the end thats been beaten on

That is a really nice gouge. I have seen alot of them, however none with the rounded body like that. That is awesome!!!!................thanks for showing it!!!...................................GTP

That's a really nice grooved gouge. Great find, these days any collector in New England is lucky to find one such ground stone tool in a lifetime.
