I went to a field Sunday that has yielded some good artifacts in the 4 years I have had permission to look it. Two years ago it was bottom plowed and I found some really nice points. Last year it was no-tilled and I found basically nothing. This year it has been turned. When I got out of the car I thought the field had had a little rain on it but I decided that it had had no rain but it had had a lot of wind that uncovered some artifacts. There are a ton of flakes in the field. I can't wait for it to rain but if it does I need to get there before anybody else.

used to have fields like that! (previous posting "25 years") Good Luck!! Hope you have an understanding boss, I used to forewarn mine if it looked like rain after a fresh plowing.... be up and there by dawn...
great finds for just wind blown

Is there any off-season for hunting rocks in GA? Seems you find a pile of them every week of the year. If you run for president in 2012 you have my vote.
