Inspired by Carolina Tom, I too beg for information from Sir Cheese.....please.Anyhow, I have found these on some old sites dating back to the 1850s but utilized up until modern times. I know nothing about marbles, therefore I too need schooling on these four....which look to be the oldest in my marble box. Same marbles in all pics, I will call them 1through 4,left to right......dang things are hard to photograph for sure. Thank you in advance of your kind service, vn

Second one we used to call cat's eyes cause of the clear and color in the middle, most had different colors in the middle. Could buy them by the bag at the five and dime store or sometimes the drug store. Had close to 75 or 100 in bag mixed with other marbles. HH

That one with the bubbles in it?

Hello villagenut!
Cool finds, all from the past 80 years or so. First and second appear to be vitros from the 1940s or so, 3rd is probably a Master brushed patch best I can tell, and last is a West Virginia Swirl of some sort, liekly to be from Alley. All seem to be from the 40s-50s. Hope that helps.

Nice marbles sir.

Good luck.

Thank you cheese, you da man
