Hey guys. Broke out my silver stash to look it over and found that one of my 8Reales is a double strike error. I know very little about them to start with, and I'm having trouble figuring out if the error is common. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and HH
I see nothing mentioned in my 2013 No.Am. Coins and Prices book that mentions a double strike error for that coin.
That may mean only that they are not aware of any.
Don......
Older coins errors like that are not so significant. Minting was not mastered yet so errors like that were common to leave the mints. Unlike today were nothing gets by !

Yep, collectors want more significant mistakes, like mules, overdates in some cases, error engraved/punched dies. etc.... or even really obvious double or triple strikes... but there's only so much they usually get because most of the time the price is based on neat factor.
